The Heart of Practice

        Zazen (sitting meditation) is the heart of our practice at Zen Heart Sangha. We offer two periods of zazen and kinhin (walking meditation) every Monday evening at Peninsula School in Menlo Park. These are followed by a lecture, except on the first Monday of each month which is dedicated to zazen practice only.
   
     We also have a practice program on the first and third Saturday of each month at Zenshin Do, our meditation hall in Woodside. The schedule includes three periods of zazen, a community breakfast, a work period and a time for the study and discussion of dharma (Buddhist teachings).
   
     In addition, there are several half-day and one-day sittings each year, two longer retreats in the spring and fall, and special celebrations of Buddhist holidays. Please see our schedule page for these events.
