Sangha
is the Buddhist word for the
community of individuals who practice the Buddha's way of meditation and
mindfulness. Anyone with a desire to practice in this way is welcome to become a
member of the lay community of Zen Heart Sangha.
Dana, the teaching of generosity, is the way we
support each other. The most fundamental way in which members contribute to the well-being of the sangha is by joining together for meditation practice and for the study of Buddha's teachings. Members also help in taking care of the
zendo (meditation hall), providing financial support, and serving on the board that oversees the governance and practice of the sangha. All of these activities not only support our current practice,
but
also maintain it for those who may wish to join us in the future.
